Tomato Wine

Thanks to the sun and soil, bursting with sweetness and flavor Sicilian tomatoes are among the best in the world in terms of taste and aroma. Pachino varietal tomatoes, growing abundantly around the island of Sicily, are crunchier and sweeter than most other varieties.  They are used in making Pomodoro Sauce, the most basic, and probably the most important ingredient of all Sicilian food.

The end of July through October is tomato-harvest time on the island.  Pachino varietal tomatoes are not only an Italian delicacy, the popular fruit is in fact beloved and celebrated in festivals, trade shows and feasts throughout the year; adorning pasta dishes, salads, pizza, fish and wine making.

Tomato Wine, a family Italian desert recipe, has been in our family for over 100 years.  Since the age of 9 years old, my brother and I have been making the family recipe with our father.  Bringing bottles to parties, giving them out as gifts and even cooking with it. Today I carry on the family tradition fermenting our wine for everyone to enjoy.
